Tangachi
( CASE STUDY )
—
Context
Tangachi, meaning 'Little Sister' in Tamil, is a social enterprise and studio that works with talented artisans in India to source and craft fabrics for slow-fashion entrepreneurs. The mission - 'centering indigenous sister artisans in the slow fashion revolution' - is one of my favorite missions l've supported.
Solution
Nikita commissioned Rebirth ° Brand + Website Design Bundle, which included a 7-page custom Squarespace 7.1 Website. Harmonizing minimalism with ancient-modern design, this website is both aesthetically gorgeous and technically sound. The branding incorporates both curated hand-drawn elements as well as public domain illustrations from vintage Indian decorative design books. A custom branded video was created for the opening of the website using open-source video files, and video backgrounds are incorporated throughout. And the website is mobile-optimized, of course!

As a part of our branding process, stock videography was sourced and edited together to enhance visual storytelling. This video was added to the top of the homepage to captivate attention.

“Working with Nenah was a dream. Her artistry, depth, and feminine magic extend beyond her work and seep into every interaction you have with her. I was trying to build a website for a new business, and Nenah captured the soul of everything I was trying to express through my business in such a beautiful way that it ended up becoming the blueprint for how the business developed throughout that process. It's hard to put into words.
To say she went above and beyond doesn’t quite sum it up. Nenah put in so much work: researching, finding the most spectacular and fitting imagery, and capturing the brand’s essence. The brand folder she gave me for the website was full of incredible gems—images and artwork—that I now refer to for everything, from my social media to tags and labels.”

“Nenah asked me so many questions about the brand—about our hopes and dreams, the clients we wanted to attract, the future we wanted to create, our history, and the cultural context. This deep dive set a precedent for how I wanted to express myself through the business.
Aside from the website she delivered, I was so in awe of who Nenah is as a person and artist. She is thoughtful, incredibly organized, and has a unique ability to bring clarity and vision to any project. Her genuine love and care for her clients shines through everything she does. Working with her was not just a professional experience, but a truly inspiring one. I feel lucky to have had the chance to work with Nenah—she is worth every penny and more!”
