Email Hosting

Protonmail

The thought of Google searching through my emails seriously creeps me out LOL. I value online privacy pretty highly, so I personally use Protonmail for my business email. Protonmail is secure, VPN encrypted email hosted in Switzerland, and is governed by strict swiss privacy laws. I pay for Mail Plus so that my email address can include my custom domain name.

Client Management

Bonsai

How did I ever do business without Bonsai?! This client management software allows me to send proposals and contracts that can be approved and signed electronically, through the click of a button. I can also track time & projects - and I can send invoices. I personally have the Starter Plan, plus I added on Bonsai Tax too - which helps me track my income, expenses, and quarterly estimated tax payments. If you are a service provider, I highly recommend it.

Email Marketing

Flodesk

If you followed along during my ‘Bye Bye Instagram’ era, you’ll know I’m an advocate for email marketing. Email is an effective tried-and-true way to get the word out about your business. I love Flodesk because it seamlessly integrates with Squarespace, and you can design the most beautiful emails there with custom fonts and colors. You can also create forms, templates, and automated workflows for distributing freebies. I recommend growing an email list sooner rather than later but only if you can keep up with sending an email at least every other month. My link below provides 50% off your first year.

Photo Hosting

Pixieset

I love showcasing my best photos on my website, but Pixieset has been key for actually running my photography busieness for the last 10 years. I love their online galleries - where I can easily upload high resolution photos and then send a link to clients for easy downloading and sharing. The galleries have lots of advanced features for photographers like password-protection and analytics. Even though I could host galleries on my website, using this software makes the whole process faster when I’m re-arranging and presenting. I love how I can host private galleries, and I love that my clients can make a favorites list too.

Learn Website Coding

Squarestylist

My mentor Rache from Standout Squarespace is pretty much my favorite teacher ever by now. I mean, I can’t believe someone exists that’s this smart, organized and professional. If you are a designer who is interested in learning about custom coding and CSS, I highly recommend starting here. Rache breaks things down in such an easy-to-learn way. Plus she provides high-touch for all my questions, and the code toolkit is the best resource ever for coding websites more quickly.

Learn Copywriting

Between the Lines

Writing about myself used to be seriously terrifying for me. For a long time, I had a beautiful website but no good copywriting to go with it - until I found Sara’s DIY copywriting course (and I haven’t looked back since!) I mean, read these sentences! I finally sound more like myself, instead of sounding like my Linkedin profile. It took me soooooo long to get out of stiff corporate resume speak. Sara taught me the art of conversational copywriting, and I’m grateful to her for that.

Home Office Supplies

Wilde House Paper

This is one of the largest and most beautiful collections of physical home office resources, like guided workbooks, new moon calendars, to-do lists, routine planners, and self-reflection resources. Their collection of paper goods is made with beautiful recycled paper, which is sourced from paper mills across the US. Through their use of recycled packaging materials like recycled tissue, paper tape, dissolvable packaging peanuts & paper filler, they also prioritize the use of sustainable packaging where possible. Take a glance through these beautiful paper resources!
