“There was no project until Nenah came along. It was only an idea that I’ve been sitting on for years. It wasn’t until I saw her announcement that she’d be offering website design services that I saw its true potential. The only frustrating part has been not having access to people with both creative vision and technical acumen, who you can also trust to set the right expectations for what’s possible.
There’s a feeling of creative ecstasy that comes with working with Nenah. It’s not so much about how I felt after the project finished, but rather how that feeling carried through the entire project. From kick off, to check-ins, to 1-on-1 calls—every aspect of working with Nenah was intellectually fulfilling and productive. Nenah is the perfect person for those who gain energy from working in harmony with others. I also sense, she’s great at driving the direction of the project, taking as much off your plate as you’d like her to. She can flex to the needs of her clients.
The finished portfolio site exceeded all my expectations. I was so impressed with Nenah’s timeliness and transparency. She embodied all the qualities I was looking for in a designer and developer. I’d tell my friends and peers that this was one of the most fun and fulfilling projects I’ve worked on. And it was only possible because of Nenah. She deserves every kind word she gets. Nenah has a way of gracefully balancing business sense with creative problem solving. She structures her services to make sense for her clients and is always willing to help them navigate their needs based on cost and output.
At the start of the project, Nenah was both approachable and professional. She set clear expectations for how the process would play out and organized her communication in a way that was easy to track. As the project was underway, Nenah did a remarkable job of interpreting my vision and contributing new thinking to it, which not only made it more conceptually/visually interesting but more technically feasible, too! She comprehensively summarized progress being made at every step, as well as any feedback she or I had.
The most daunting part of any digital project is the technical execution. I knew I needed to refresh my portfolio to open up doors for better professional experiences but I lacked the personal bandwidth to see it through on my own. Knowing myself, I also work best when collaborating with others. I knew I needed to work with someone who could breathe life into my creative vision while also contributing to it in a meaningful way (not just “tell me what to do”). Having collaborated with Nenah on visual/motion projects and experienced her work with event installations, I was excited to see her flex her design skills in an area I hadn’t seen before. I knew immediately she was the right person for this.
She almost always had an answer or if not, she would follow up soon after. It was reassuring to see how often she was able to preempt questions I had. It was clear she’d been thoroughly researching technical solves and consulting her community of developers and website experts to have the right answers on hand. Overcoming technical limitations was never a problem for Nenah. To share an example, there was a fun interaction idea that she wasn’t able to do at first. I was completely ok with it and happy to continue with the direction the site was going. To my surprise, she came back a week later having figured it out. And just like that, the cool interaction was back on the table. It’s moments like this that made me really feel taken care of.
Throughout the whole project, she had a very ‘can-do’ attitude and would help me understand the effort and time needed to properly execute. If something didn’t fall within scope, she’d offer a simpler alternative or offer to take it on as a separate service, outside this project. The bottom line is Nenah always presented a path forward and provided me with everything I needed to pick a direction. For that, I’m forever grateful to Nenah’s top-notch design thinking and technical acumen.
As someone who works with designers and developers regularly as part of my profession, I can honestly say Nenah is one of the easiest and most fun people I’ve ever worked with and relish any opportunity to do so again.”
